The SparkFun Serial MP3 Player Shield (MY1690X-16S) adds standalone audio playback to compatible with Arduino projects. Store MP3 or WAV files on a microSD card (up to 32GB, formatted FAT16 or FAT32) and control playback using the onboard UART serial command set. Audio is output through a 3.5mm TRRS connector for headphone-level output. For convenient file management, the shield includes a USB-C connector that allows the microSD card to appear as a drive when connected, making it easy to add or remove audio files. The board uses a standard compatible with Arduino Uno R3 shield footprint and includes an ICSP passthrough header footprint for compatibility in stacked builds. A horizontal Qwiic connector is provided to expose the I2C bus from compatible with Arduino boards. Note: Headers are not included. For speaker use, add an external audio amplifier.
